San Jose, CA — March 16, 2009 — Dean L. Middour, President and COO of Thoits Insurance, was named “Insurance Person of the Year” by the Golden Gate Chapter of the Society of CPCU, earlier this month.

The annual award is presented by the Golden Gate Chapter of the Society of CPCU, one of the oldest and largest chapters of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), whose primary goal is to further education and professionalism within the insurance industry.

As the only two-time winner of the award, first time in 2001, Middour has 41 years of insurance experience and has shared his expertise with Thoits since 2001.

“I am honored to receive this award twice.  It is particularly meaningful as it is bestowed by my peers,” said Middour.
